Default Southern Oaks .... Impressive conditions today Saturday March 9, 2024

Congratulations to the Staff at Southern Oaks.... what a pleasure to play a golf course in the Villages that I would be proud to take a guest too. ( Not many others in my opinion)

Great greens.... the strength of the course, good tee boxes and fairways, and very nice bunkers.......

Thanks To All working there!!

I agree. Maybe they should put those people in charge of all Championship courses.

Actually, they were the people taking care of Glenview, Lopez and TDS that were moved down there. The people taking care of Palmer now have those northern courses. God help them now.

So now we'll see. One of the reasons cited for bad course conditions is bad maintenance crews. If the conditions on those 3 northern courses deteriorate over the rest of the year, we may have the answer.

El Niño is very selective about which courses it attacks.

Of "course" it is---just like a tornado that takes out one house and leaves the next one untouched. And to think meteorologists think it's a global phenomenon. Golfers on Havana and Evans know better

Great shape but the have to light the turnpike noise, truck and car views and over priced green fees.

I was also thinking about another poster's suggestions of both top agronomists and performance vs. task based contracts. Perhaps the recent improvements are simply the maintenance groups following a checklist for this time of year. After a sub-optimal winter we should expect improvement.

Not all PGA Professionals are great at the touchy-feeling thing. Many of them are too busy folding shirts and refereeing rules disagreements at the Women's Day Outing.
