Default Learn About the Science of Hurricanes

John Shewchuk, retired Air Force Meteorologist, will speak about Why Hurricanes Form - The Science.

Find out why and how these storms form. See how these cyclones help remove heat from the tropics while cooling the oceans. Find out why they spin in different directions in different hemispheres, and find out why they cause weak tornadoes, and why global warming is inhibiting hurricane activity.

We will meet at 1:00PM, Monday June 3rd at the Everglades Rec Center.

Brought to you by The Villages Science and Technology Club - South. Open to all Villagers and guests. You will need your Villages (or Guest) ID card to enter. No club "membership" required.

Listening to Shewchuk talk about anything related to global warming is like....

living in Alice in Wonderland! You just get dizzy listening to his same old same old blathering on the subject!

If he had any degrees in anything but weather, he would be worth listening to. As it is, he has no regard for the science related to global warming and continues to hew the line of the climate deniers. He does so by not once citing a peer reviewed scientific article that would support his viewpoint. This, in spite of the fact that he has been asked to provide even one peer review article citation. Instead, he just says peer review articles are all political.

Hence, his discussions related to climate change merely represent his iconoclastic perspective. That is sometimes known as being a charlatan!
