Default Quilters? Fabric?

My good friend is visiting us, and she's a quilter. She asked me if there is a quilting fabric store anywhere near TV. Does anyone here quilt and buy fabric locally? She knows about JoAnn's; she was hoping for a more specialized shop.
Thanks for any info,
Judy
PS. 'Near' doesn't mean Ocala or Orlando.

there are many quilting clubs in the villages [see listing here: http://www.thevillagesdailysun.com/a...es/recnews.pdf scroll way down the 'page']

each club has a contact name and tele number - maybe you want to give them a call and see what they suggest. they aren't specialty stores, but there is a local michael's store and i think walmart has brought fabrics back to the store; and there is a hobby lobby up in ocala.

I have heard Whippoorwill Station is just an average quilt shop, but I haven't been there yet. I have heard that the one in Deland is extra special - haven't been there either yet. Could combine Deland with a visit to New Smyrna Beach or just enjoy Deland, a cute college town (Stetson University).

I had wondered the same thing! I have a quilt shop locator app on my phone but it showed nothing when we were down there. From the looks of the minutes of the guild in TV they take trips to various shops outside the area. I was floored at the number of groups and the membership in the guild ... another reason to get down there (and bring my stash!!)
Thanks

Thanks to everybody for your advice! Our quilting friend enjoyed her visit, and we accidentally met up with a quilting group while I was showing her one of the rec centers. They had tubs o' fabric, so they must buy it somewhere!

Very fine quilting materials shop in Leesburg called Quilters Dream. Only a couple of miles from TV. It's right on Main St.
