TV Freshwater Fishing Club meets on Tue Oct 11 at 7 PM at Lake Miona Rec Center. Come 30-45 min early and share your angling adventures with others.
Evening speaker will be Law Enforcement Officer Tom Kist. Officer Kist will enlighten us about FL law requirements. Do I need a FL fishing license? Can I keep this bass? I kept 34 specks today.....and so on. These folks are hard to get due to their thin numbers. We are priviledged to have them speak to the membership. Please give them your support by attending. Attendees must be a resident or registered guest of The Villages. |

F16....someone mentioned on another thread that a fishing license is not required to fish in Villages ponds as long as you do catch and release.
Is this correct???

Nope! This is why we've scheduled Law Enforcement to speak. There's so many different versions of "Well when I lived up north they said ......" $trongly $ugge$t they attend the meeting and/or go to their local county clerk$ office and obtain a copy of fi$hing regulation$. Or pay a hefty fine if caught. |

Thanks Pat,
I'm sure the FWC Officer will cover your post. Unfortunately many fail to read what's required. Anglers are encouraged to come early. Doors will be around 6 PM. There's always someone there to listen to your angling story prior to the meeting. There will be reports of what's been biting, techniques, and locations. Residents & Guests please remember to bring your Village ID for entry. C Ya There |

I am a renter each year and have been looking for someone to fish with while I'm in TV. Can a renter belong to the club and join in events while staying there? My normal months are Feb/Mar. Thanks
Irish

It's been suggested that members that want to fish either contact someone on the list whether boater or non-boater and go from there. Many friendships have been kindled thru the club and this is one sure way to start. I do suggest that you have your own tackle. Also attending a meeting is always recommended. At least you'll get a feel for the person whether he's a Curt Gowdy or a just a flunky like me. Of course we've got boating members but there's some great ponds in TV with huge bass and crappies in them. I know. I'm one of several members that have brought fish from outside TV to ponds within. These ponds are golf cart accessible. If you want to know anything about bass fishing in or outside TV check with a board member. They'll either bend your ear with BS or point you in the direction of someone who knows something. There's a tentative plan for a bus trip to Bass Pro Shop in Orlando in Feb 2012. That's always a good time. More on that later. Come join us. You won't be sorry.
