The answers are either here or phone numbers where you can call to get the answers.

After you get down here, you can see if there are any neighborhood league you can get into. We have a couple in our village. Some of the different clubs have golf leagues.

Yes... there are 2 types of courses here: 1) championship, which are 18-27 hole country club courses and 2) executive, which are 9 hole courses--mostly par 3 with 1-2 par 4 holes/course and rarely a par 5. Anyway, on every Tuesday there is men's league golf day. You can sign up (very easy by computer) to play in the Championship league on any given Tuesday or in the Executive league. There are a number of courses involved throughout the Villages. The executive league uses a standard 4 man scramble format. The championship league varies the format week to week. You can do executive one week and champion the next if you want to. In order to play in the championship league you need an established GHIN handicap. When I moved here I had a USGA handicap, not GHIN, and that created a small problem that was easily taken care of by the club pro. Woman's day is every Wed and the same applies. I did both but have gravitated toward the executive league (more relaxed atmosphere). BTW.... there's $$$ to be won on both!

For Men's day you can use the villages.net or the telephone system. The telephone system is pretty simple for men's day sign-up.

For the championship courses, you not only need a GHIN handicap but you have to be a priority member. I spent the extra bucks to get the GHIN system and then I found out about the priority membership part.

I will not mention my displeasure at this time.

Last time I checked, GHIN for non priority is about 18.00 and priority is 15.00 for the year. Not really excessive in my mind. Priority has always been required for championship courses men's day and couples events but not necessary for executive men's day. Executive men's day is a fun group and enjoyable.

I think all golfers should have a GHIN handicap anyway. As far as a priority membership, well that depends on the amount of play you get.

Why should all golfers have a GHIN handicap if you cannot get into most of the tournaments in TV without a priority membership?
