The next meeting of The Villages Motor Racing Fan Club will be Wednesday, Jan. 3 at the Colony Cottage Recreation Center, going green at 7 p.m.

The guest speaker is Lori Sheppard, RN and Senior Director of NASCAR Medical Liaisons.

With Lori's love of racing, she spent 14 years in the scoring booth at Star Speedway in Epping, N.H. When NASCAR sanctioning began, she worked several years as a part-time employee for NASCAR as a scorekeeper.

In 2004 Lori discovered that NASCAR has a medical department consisting of registered nurses. She utilized her nursing degree to secure the job of Medical Liaison Coordinator (MLC). Since then Sheppard has risen through the ranks and now leads the team of NASCAR MLCs.

Club meetings are open to Villages residents with appropriate Villages ID.
