Default New discussion group: "East-West Dharma Hour"

With our Western backgrounds, it's not always easy for us to fully appreciate the insights into life ("dharma") coming from other perspectives. And working with native Eastern teachers may be limited by language and/or cultural barriers. So here, we will take a middle way: listening to the stories of Westerners who have studied in these other traditions, and then considering how what they have found may apply in our own lives as well.

The group meets on the second and fourth Fridays of the month at 9:30 AM at the Captiva Recreation Center. With our recorded dharma talks being 45-60 minutes, the meetings will come to natural conclusions in 90 minutes or so.

Upcoming:
February 14 (inaugural meeting): "Who are you really?" (Jack Kornfield)
February 28: "How do we become wise?" (Sylvia Boorstein)
