Default Crochet Club

Is there a Crochet Club in The Villages? Mom and I are coming to TV in March for 2 weeks. She is 88 and I am looking for things for her to do. She is learning to crochet and I was wondering if there are any Crochet Clubs. I looked in the club list but I didn't see anything.

there are a few that include chrocheters with knitters - wish I could recall the names of them - but they are listed in the rec guide listing.

found some:
HAPPT STITCHERS All stitchers are invited to join the group. If you like to knit, crochet or cross-stitch, or if you can quilt or do needlepoint, crewel or any type of needlework, bring your current proj- ect. Members will get acquainted while stitching and complete some of their unfinished projects. For information, call Bonnie Westfall at 430-0651.

KNITTING SOCIAL The Knitting Social meets at 1 p.m. on the second, fourth and fifth Mondays of each month at Churchill Street Recreation Center. Those interested in knitting and crocheting are welcome to come work on their projects and socialize. Bring show and tell items. For information, call Linda Madler at 259-4606.

NEEDLEWORK The Needlework Club meets 9:30-11:50 a.m. Thursdays in the Lucille Ball Room at Paradise Recre- ation Center. Anything you wish to create with a needle, the club does: knitting, crocheting, cross-stitching, needlepoint, sewing, quilting, bead- ing, etc. Everyone is welcome to come socialize with the group. The club does not teach, but members are glad to help with problems. For information, call Joi Lauterborn at 750-5355.

go to http://www.thevillagesdailysun.com/ and click on the link for 'schedule' under recreation heading and it will bring up the latest rec news in pdf version - scroll toward end to find the club descriptions

hope this helps

The Purl Girls meet on Thursday from 3:00-5:00 at Coconut Cove. Many ladies crochet. Very friendly group and the first one I attended when visiting The Villages. Hope to see you there.
