Couple of questions/ideas/thoughts -- wouldn't everyone wearing something red kind of give it away. What made it work so well in the video was that there were people from all walks of life freezing. It seems like if we stayed in the vicinity of the camera (at least on that side of the bandstand) and froze at the appointed whistle, that would give us a clue who is participating. Someone needs to have a whistle to blow when it is time to move again. Then we could all meet by the clock or a local bar to discuss what fun we had, the looks of those around us, etc. It would be nice if someone had a video camera to record this silliness and could figure out a way to download it somewhere.

Should someone maybe call the Sun to tell them an event is planned for Thursday night? Might be fun to see it in the paper. Or maybe just give them the link to the video after it has been accomplished?

HB, are you going to copy your post so that it is on at least the General and Non-General forums so more know about it? Even the word gets out a little, there is no way it will get out enough to not make it surprising for many.

IMHonestO... ;D ;D ;D ;D

I agree with Red about not wearing a designated color...so we are not a noticable group.

I have a question: Are we to meet at 5:00 OR are we to freeze at 5:00?

Okay so when I set the date and time etc I had these thoughts in mind.
April 10th because it is a Market Night in LSL. and that will provide us with a nice audience.

5:00pm because there is a gong and therefore we can we doing whatever we are doing and not have to be watching each other to see when to start. I thought we would all freeze when the gong sounded. Now there is one issue that I did not weigh when I set these details....the people in that video froze for 5 minutes count them 5 minutes. That is one heck of a long time to hold perfectly still. Do you think 3 minutes is long enough to get noticed or should we stick with 5???

Everybody on the clock side of the bandstand...because that is the side the webcam is on and being a wanna-be TVer who is lucky enough to be visiting that week, I am sensitive to the desire to be part of what goes on in TV by those whose houses have not yet sold.

Wear something red above the waist...that was just my way of making sure we (Tom and I) wouldn't be the only two people frozen. I had no idea there would be such a positive response. I am thrilled and excited and could care less if we dressed similar or not. Actually I am not bringing much in the way of red with me. So wear whatever, I think you are right.

I was going to post an announcement of this event on the Non-Villages forum, but didn't because I thought it would tip off too many people? But if you all think that it won't lessen the impact but rather increase the participation well...I will post the ad below on the Non Villages Forum.

Everyone please join us in the First Annual Freeze Event

Who: Anyone who is adventurous and young at heart is invited.
When: Date: April 10, 2008
Time: When the 5 pm gong sounds everyone will freeze for 5 minutes in the
position of their choice. At the end of 5 minutes unfreeze and proceed to
the clock for debriefing and a good laugh with friends.

We definitely need someone to volunteer to tape this. It would be so neat if it could be downloaded for us all to see. And maybe the person taping could blow a whistle when the time is up? Kinda hard to freeze and watch the clock, too. Or maybe someone could plan to freeze watching the clock with a whistle in hand ready to be blown at the end of 5 minutes?

Just tossing out ideas.

Do agree that 5 minutes might be too long. Guess we could all practice freezing at home and see how long that 5 minutes would feel. I know I'm going to.

As my bro used to say, this is gonna be kick-a$$ fun!!!!

The ice cream might be interesting as it melts in place. Better not be chugging a beer or a mudslide ;D.

Default What happened?

So, did you do it? This post is from last year and it just ends at the beginning of April. What happened? Did anyone do this? I would have loved to be there and watch, videotape, and/or participate. Tell me what happened. Karen
