Default Recommendations for LG TV service

No sound, no screen. Researched LG site to trouble shoot. In the end recommended needed a LG service person. It’s a 55” purchased in 2010. Any recommendations or maybe just time for a new. (Happened after I changed out my wi-if modem/router) Thanks

I would suggest buying a new TV. 55 inch TVs are less than $350, and they will probably have more features, like built in streaming apps, extra HDMI inputs, and maybe a brighter screen. And, I think that most people are opting for a screen size of at least 65 inches or larger.

This is the perfect time to purchase a new TV. There are tremendous Super Bowl sales going on right now. Look at Walmart or any of the warehouse stores.

I agree, time for a new one. We were in a Wal-Mart a few days ago, I passed a center aisle TV display, and I stopped and did a double take. I couldn't believe the low prices. Most if not all were Smart TVs, built in apps, etc.

Yours is probably LCD whereas almost all new ones are LED which are cheaper to run, so I'd opt for a new one if I were you

check to see if there is a red light visible near where the logo is. If not, you have no power. There is a power reset button - probably on the bottom. It is a circuit breaker and pushing it in will reset the switch.

I agree with others that if it is not a simple fix then buy new.

Seriously, don't fix it - replace it. TV's have had amazing improvements since 2010 and if you watch for a good sale, they are amazingly cheap. I mean really cheap.

I too have LG TV and had that problem. I unplugged TV for about 15 seconds and plugged back in and voila I got picture and sound back. Don't know why but it worked for me and has done it just a few times again, but I do the unplug method and works.

Have you searched for the actual manual (on line version) by entering the exact model number of your tv?

Get a new 4K smart tv, it will be cheaper than getting your old tv fixed. With the new tv, you will be able to add apps to it for HBO max, Disney+, and hundreds of other streaming services

We just purchased 4K (something something) 75" Samsung smart TV for $940 at best buy. I'd buy a new one

Do this exactly as I am telling you. Find the on off switch on the TV so you know where it is. Unplug the TV for 5 minutes. Plug it back in and turn the TV on with the switch on the TV. DO NOT USE THE REMOTE!!! It should come on if not then time for a new TV

Are batteries in remote still good? Weak batteries make the tv do weird things.
