Default AARP offers Real Pad for $189!

It utilizes Droid operating system is 16 gig and of course wifi capable.

When reading all the specs it is capable of doing exactly what an iPad does in every single respect.

Has anyone seen or know of this device?

Go to AARP.gov and click on the Real Pad link in one of the side bars...right side I think.

Default

the link you posted should be aarp.org (not gov)

Walmart has the same product for $149.00

go to RealPad by AARP 7.85" Tablet 16GB Intel - Walmart.com

You can read the reviews posted there.

Default Online computer store

There is an online computer store where (I am told) the geeks go to buy their "stuff". I am not sure that the admin would accept the link so I will spell it out and hope you can convert it. tiger direct dot com. They have a huge selection of tablets and pads and everything else a techie could want ranging in price from the lowest to the highest. I was told recently about a tablet they are selling for under $100 made by Envizon and according to my source, it is a great little product.

What we really need though, is a class for dinosaurs to be able to actually utilize all the features of a tablet. On page 60 of the Village Lifelong College catalog they are offering a class called Android Tablets Made Easy. I have no idea what the difference between Android and any other tablet is, so I need some clarification on that.

I wish the geeks would talk to me like I'm 7years old, then maybe I could understand!

After complaining as I did above, I went to search and found great information on comparing tablets on Amazon, but TOTV cannot accept the site. This information is extremely useful to me and I hope it will help others who are looking at purchasing a tablet. If I can work out another link to it, I'll repost.

The best I can come up with is to go to Amazon and search for Tablet Comparison.

Cool

As I always say, You get what you pay for. Before purchasing one of these, please do a little research and read a few reviews of the product. The biggest advantage I have found is they are cheaper than an iPad. Not so much cheaper than other tablets that run the Android OS. Look at Samsung, for example and you will find comparable tablets at comparable prices. Additionally, the RealPad is about the same size as the iPad mini.

Many of the reviews I read, stated that the tablets were loaded up with a lot of AARP stuff to get you to purchase more of the AARP insurance, etc.

Disclaimer: I'm an Apple fan, for what it's worth.
