Default Problem with pop ups on Macbook air

Has anyone else been getting pop ups for windows viruses on their Mac computer? They advertise tech help for cleaning up the problem, but this seems to be a windows issue. How do I get it off my mac? Any ideas would be appreciated. It happens now every time I open Safari.

Thanks

Run an antivirus software, make sure your operating system is running the latest version, clear cookies and cache and restart your device.

Have you checked any of the support forums on the Apple site? I have a Mac Air and my husband a Mac Pro and we haven't encountered any such problem.

Regards,
Do not run anti virus software on your mac! You will have more problems than when you started.

First what browser are you using, there is where you start. Antivirus software will only cause you more problems

Interesting we run Trend Micro on our Macs with no issues at all.
