Default Microsoft Word 2007 to Microsoft Excel 2007

Need to pick someone's brain here.
I have several word document files (baseball files actually) that I have typed in Microsoft Word. (Why Word, I don't know, I was young).
I have CDs just full of this stuff. I need to make it workable and wish to do so by making a spread sheet out of these files.
Someone please tell me there is an easy way to convert Microsoft Word files to Excel spreadsheets. It will take me years to retype them into spreadsheet form. Good news? They are both from the same Microsoft Office boot disk. Bad news? I no longer have that disk. I have tried just taking a file entoto and moving it to Excel, but nothing happens.
Help is needed please. Contact me at <SABRMnLgs@AOL.com> Thank you.

Neat bumper sticker. Went like this: "It's God's job to judge terrorists. Our job is to arrange the meeting!"

Jerry, try a Google search on "convert word to excel" (without the quotes) - yields several seemingly viable solutions. Hopefully at least one will work for your scenario.

There is always good old copy and paste, but the format will need to be the same or you'll have to copy and paste each cell or column individually.

The good news is you can do it. I do not have an 07 program but you want to look for a file import menu. It could be under File or maybe data. When you import you get to set up some rules to help format the data. I would also try the programs help and look for file import, import and text.

Try copying the whole Word doc into the top left cell of a spreadsheet

Depending on the complexity of your program, Excel may just sort it out for you

I have had success doing it this way for simple examples
