Can you go to a public wi-fi and log in? That should tell you it was not the download.
Also is your wi-turned on in the computer.
Can you hard wire to the modem to test?

Just an fyi, my husband did the upgrade on his MacPro and has no issues and we use Century Link. I'm doing the upgrade on my MacAir as we speak.

When I upgraded my MacPro I had to reestablish my wifi connection by selecting the wireless name and inserting the password. All is well.

Default Makes me afraid to try to upgrade

trailrider, what type Mac? I have a Macbook that I bought new in early 2010, had to go to a rec center last year to upgrade to Mavericks. Was on the phone with Apple several times and they thought there was something with the Centurylink wifi that was blocking the upgrade. I haven't tried to upgrade to Yosemite yet, not sure if I should with this old of a computer. Anyone know?

Yes, don't allow Centrylink to touch your Mac, get free help from any one of the Mac users here in the Villages.

My experience with CenturyLink in dealing with internet and wi-fi issues reminded me of Comcast. Pathetic. Ask for a supervisor right away.

I recently upgraded to OSX Yosemite and have had wifi access problems ever since. I have to keep going back to my Network Preferences and re-select my home network. I've tried numerous solutions to "LOCK' on, but nothing works. According to Macforum, the Yosemite version has some wifi bugs which hopefully be addressed by Apple soon. This is not a Centurylink problem since my Microsoft OS computer has no problems working on the same network.
