Default Comcast and Direct TV

Is anyone using Comcast only for their Internet and another service for TV. Also, do you turn off the Internet if you go back north for a few months. If so how's it working out with Comcast to discontinue the service and then start it up again when you return.

We have Comcast for internet, Vonage for telephone, and Dish for TV.

All working out fine.

Default going back and forth

No problems so far. Unfortunately the Comcast 6 month promotions end soon.

we have comcast tv and internet - seasonal vacation service could not be easier - be advised, however, should you return to the villages unexpectedly during that 'vacation' period you will have no service - and if you reconnect during that unexpected return, you cannot go back on the 'vacation' period.

just wondering all the satellite dish users, have you lost signal during all this rain?
considering changing from comcast when they jack up the price.

Comcast for internet and Direct TV. We are able to take the receivers back and forth. Just a phone call to setup the local channels from one place to another. No additional costs. We have lost the signal, rarely, in extreme storms. If there was another internet provider that gave us the same speed I would drop Comcast in a minute. Any time I have to deal with Comcast customer service it was not a good experience.

I read all the comments about comcast customer service and until I experienced it myself I would not believe it. First the installer came three hours early....on the day I moved in. So movers were literally unloading the truck. Then he didn't even hook up all the TVs. said the wiring was there and I could do it myself. Set the box up on the floor next to the TV stand and I had to ask him to put it in one of the slots. No instruction on the remote. No channel guide. I was never told about the digital devices needed, Brighthouse is just hooked right to TV if you don't want a box. I pressed the on demand button and got nothing so I called customer service. She acted annoyed to be taking the call. I'm seriously thinking of taking advantage of the 30 day satisfaction guarantee.

Lost it for a brief time yesterday. Nothing unbearable though, especially considering the intensity and persistence of the rain.

After a couple months, I view it so far as a non-issue.

Comcast, the company you love to hate. But, once things are setup and working, it works.

I was in an LSL eating place Sunday watching NFL and before the rain barely started their Direct TV signal went out for about 15 mins. Lost it briefly a couple of other times during the game. This was a steady rain at times but not a thunderstorm. That alone would give me pause before considering a switch to satellite.
