Check on craigs list around the time kids are going back home from school. Its easier to sell computers than travel with them. Got a great deal on a mac air for that reason

I agree with rhood. I have purchased refurbished from Apple in the past. They have same warranty as new.

I've bought 6 macs over the past 22 years, all used but one. I've purchased from private owners, eBay and used dealers. I aim for a "last year's model". Never had a problem. I do a lot of photo editing with GIMP along with some video editing. A bigger screen is better.

Default Be advised

Just be advised there are some programs that will not run on a mac.

For most this is not a problem at all. In fact I'm on the Mac 13 now.

For example we were down last week with nothing but the Mac and a iPad.

Could not fill in our damage claim for Allied moving. Got to the end and it would not complete. Called them the next day and it was oh you have Safari will not work.

Had to go to our neighbors and use IE

I am trying to transition out of PC land but will never be without a PC in the home.

And no I am not installing Windows on my Mac.

If you run into a site giving you problems got to Preferences, select the Advanced tab, click Show Develop Menu button and close.

Now select Develop from the Safari menu and select User Agent. You can choose from a bunch of web browsers. Selecting one will fool the website into thinking you are using that one vs Safari.

Works most of the time.

Default Your about to drink the Kool-Aid!

We started buying Mac about 6 yrs ago out of frustration with PC's. We've never looked back. No more crashes or freezes, no more having to replace it every few years due to obsolete operating systems. Just smooth sailing all the time. Welcome to a new world
