Default Help with AT&T Next Plan

My cell phone contract with AT&T will be up on Nov 4. I asked for an early upgrade because my hubby was having trouble with his Iphone. They offered me $39.92 a month for the new Iphone 6 plus 128 gig. I figured out that over a two year period I would pay $950 for the phone with the ATT Next no-contract Plan. I would still like to have this phone but that seems way to high to pay for it. I asked her about bringing my own phone to the deal and she said $15 per line instead of the $25 per line. Has anyone purchased their own Iphone 6 plus and brought it to AT&T for hook up? What price was the phone. This all is so confusing and I believe they try to make it that way to make you pay more.

If I wait until the contract is up I can get the phone for $299 but then I lose my $25 per month discount by adding a contract. Seems like I'm screwed either way.

This is all so confusing to me. I am waiting to purchase iPhone 6plus. Considering ATT. 31.50 /month for phone plus 2 lines for my husband and myself. Taxes are extra. My alternative is Cricket Wireless which is owned by ATT and uses ATT towers. This would cost us $90 a month for 2 lines including taxes. Thing is must buy phone from Apple unlocked and bring to them for setup.

I was wondering if I could purchase outright a phone from Apple that would be unlocked and ready to go for a ATT hookup. The customer rep on the phone finally gave in and admitted that it would be the cheapest way to go. I wonder though if Apple would sell me a phone this way and at what cost.

No I tried that Apple will not sell the phone to you without a contract. What people don't realize is anyway you "buy" the phone you are going to be paying for the price of the phone one way or another either up front or over a period of time. I finally ordered my IPhone 6Plus for my ATT Next Plan should have it in a week or so and and keep my ATT Discounts. One way or another it all averages out the Cell companies do not get a break on the IPhones they are going to recoup their money one way or another Now I will say that besides the good device I get around here for my ATT cell device (never have dropped calls and only place I don't get service is through the Ocala National Forest, I keep ATT because I retired from them many years ago and get a discount on my service and accessories
Now you can go on Amazon or elsewhere I think and buy the phone. Not 100% sure. though.
