I have forgotten the admin password on my old linksys router that I want to install here. Any way to reset router to use a NEW PASSWORD?

Google "linksys router reset password" (without the quotes) - numerous links to procedures on how to do the reset.

If you cannot sign in to reset the password, you can reset the router to the default settings that came with the router. On the back should be a small hole that you can insert the end of a paper clip into that will reset the router. Then you can sign in with admin / password (that is the password) and rebuild your router settings.

Extreme but it works.

I was trying to do the same thing for a friend a couple of weeks ago. It was difficult finding info about it on the internet that made sense. I did find one post that said to not put in a login name and type admin as the password. Hey, it's worth a try. Good luck.
