Default How do I attach this and to what

Purchased this recently anticipating hooking into something to hear speaker presentations from recent seminar.
However, I have no idea what this goes into.

Is it a USB memory stick with the presentations stored on it? Do you really, really trust it? If so, it plugs into a USB slot on your computer. This is risky, malware gets spread this way, and it would be safer to download the presentations from the official seminar site.

Note1: If your device is a phone or a tablet then there most likely is not a USB port to plug it into.

Note 2: If your device is a newer MacBook then you have a USB-C port and will need an adapter.

Not your usual USB type connector, the contacts are not usually exposed like that. Did you buy this new or used?

I agree with many of the previous comments, this does not appear to be a 'normal' USB device, I would be very cautious of inserting this into anything. If you absolutely need to hear what is on this, get a cheap player with a USB input and try it in that, there are some single board computer devices that act as players and have USB ports for additional storage. In any case I would not plug into a regular computer.

It's a simplified USB plug, designed so you can plug it in either way to a USB-A port.

It is a flash drive. Companies usually hand them out at seminars or trade shows. They are preloaded with advertising, etc. I have used them in the past and probably still have a few around the house.

Where did you get it from?

Check out the video.

If it fits into a USB-A port, take it to the library and plug it into one of their computers.

It is a common usb 2.0 connector for cheap usb memory sticks. It is missing the outer metal shield (to save cost) that helps reduce the rf interference. USB 2.0/3.0 connections are notorious for creating interference problems with tv remotes, blue tooth and similar devices. These connectors were typically used on cheap low speed memory sticks.

Back in the day at work we referred to them as geek sticks because the actuaries would wear them around their necks so they could share data files and bring work home with them.

Have you plugged it into your computer? Were you able to access the content of the drive??
