We have Verizon for our tablets and phone with large amount of data per month but for my lab top I have DSL .When we move to the villages we will not have a land line and will use direct TV so Would a mobile hot spot work for my lap top and wireless printer ?

I have the exact situation you describe and utilize a Verizon hotspot. It is very fast and I have no problems. The only issue you will have to address is the data useage. I do not stream movies but do have webcast for education requirements of my profession and when I do those, the data useage will easily go to 16-20 which drives up the cost, but still a lot cheaper for me than DSL. I personally love it and it works great for me. When my wife and I travel together, I take the hotspot with me. If I travel and my wife is here, I just use my smart phone and create a hotspot which works fine. I would check out your Verizon plan and look at cost for data before making final decision.

I use verizon wireless for my home phone and data plan - have the 6gb which is perfect as I don't stream and it is shared with my phone and tablet.
