Default Lost Google Chrome - help

OK, I admit that I am a computer lackie not a techie....have used Google as the search engine forever, all of a sudden this morning - bam, gone, won't connect to my Windows 7 any longer. Any help is appreciated, thanks in advance.

Your title mentions Google Chrome which is a browser and your post refers to Google search engine. They are two different things. Which one are you having trouble with?

Good question and thank you for catching that - I can not connect to Google Chrome; can still use google as as a search engine.

I would go to Control Panel and uninstall Chrome. Then reinstall.

You need to provide more information.

Do you have the Google icon present on your computer?

What happens when you click on it?

It sounds to me as if the Google Chrome browser opens and takes you to the Google default page which also has the google search engine.

You are obviously using a browser of some sort or you would not be able to post on this forum.

It sounds to me like what have lost, and no longer have access to, is your "saved homepage". Which is an easy fix.

But, without being more specifics it's hard to troubleshoot your problem.

Thank you!

Have uninstalled and reinstalled Google Chrome with any success?

You might also want to try accessing google chrome by clicking in the "windows ball" on the lower left corner and then type "google" in the search window. Then click on the google chrome program at the top of the column.

You might think about switching to Firefox as your browser, after trying IE and Chrome I have found it to be much more stable.

And you can easily import all of your favorites and saved sites to Firefox.

Just a suggestion.
