Default If you have a smartphone you may want to read this.

Many of the technical Internet sites have been discussing a data collection program that is preloaded on many smartphones.

The company involved is Carrier iQ.

Here is a link to one of many articles explaining the issue.

I thought we got rid of this issue in 1984.

Frankly, I don't see how this relates to anything going on in the telephone business in 1984. The big issue then was the divestiture of AT&T, and that was in the landline business.

Perhaps it was a reference to George Orwell's book '1984' - "Big Brother is watching" and all that.

"They" can record my phone calls if they want or see from who and to whom on my records.

No one is interested in hearing a 72 year old woman telling her grandchildren how much she loves them.

I have given up making book and dealing drugs and selling international secrets and smuggling guns.

Default Big Brother

Unless you read your notices Big Brother is always watching you.

Unless we go back to 1967 VW Beetles. ( I miss that car !)

Every one rocking to Sync and OnStar etc.

I can ping any one of you driving on the road. How fast ya going engine information. Get in a accident how fast did your foot lift off the gas pedal how quick did you apply the brake, what was the pitch and ya of the vehicle. Was everyone buckled in?

Car compaines can use this information for useful things or sell it to insurance companies the states or the Feds.

That cute Progressive girl on TV! Here plug this into your Data Link. And we give you a safe driver discount. Duh that is the most stupid thing a human being could do! Better not go over the speed limit in TV. The record ya at 55 in a 35 bad naughty! Nooooo great rate insurance for you.

I assume many know when you rent a car there are other data recorders in there to watch you speed and distance etc.

So the next time you hit the horn or stare at the Air Bag just remember. The black box recorded or DERM is part of it. You an pull the battery clear all the memories you want. Your data odometer and other black box info is stored.

No get our there a burn some rubber! Do some rolling stops! Make sure your belt is not on! Go for it the ycan;t tell me what to do! YEA

Sorry they can! I am not happy with our life's being tracked without permissions.

Now how many want a pre 1981 classic car. Or a Horse. See in TV at least our carts are like that , At least for now

But since 9/11 it is not going away.
