Default Internet Explorer Has Stopped Working

For the past week or so, I have been getting a dialogue box in the center of my screen saying "IE has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available. Only option is to "close program". This happens even when I am using Firefox. I checked my control panel and I see Mozilla Firefox 15.0 and Mozilla Maintenance Service. I do not see Internet Explorer even listed. Anyone know why this dialogue box keeps popping up?

Could be many reasons. Does it happen at one site or different sites? What version of IE? What is the web site you are going to when the problem occurs? What version of Windows?

Just checked the control panel in Windows 8 with IE10 and it is not shown as an installed program but that is what I am using now so that is not an issue.

You may want to reinstall IE but if you were using IE9 it will now be IE10. I see no difference in the two under Windows 7 but there are many visual differenced under Windows 8.

Just a suggestion here, Go with Google Chrome for all your Browsing needs. It is much MORE secure and loads faster as well has a better user interface which is much more catered to the newbie user.
