Do you know if TV libraries are part of the system?

I just tried this out using my own local library here in Indiana. I managed to download two books, one for 7 days and one for 14... unfortunately, though, my library is not doing the Kindle download yet (but says it is coming). I did go ahead and download them to my Ipod so have them there till they expire at the end of the 7-14 day period.

They do handle downloads to a bunch of other e-book readers like the Nook and others.

UPDATE: The Overdrive.com "Kindle" release was issued on Sept 21st. It started up today on my local library here in Indiana. There are several steps involved, but once completed and you are logged in, you can select the books "in the stack" and not checked out on another e-reader/Kindle. It works better if your Kindle uses the wi-fi connection. Mine uses the whispernet from Sprint and I have to download the book to my computer then use USB connection to open it on my Kindle.

If you live in Lake County, you can borrow e-books for the Nook. Not sure about Kindle downloads. They've only been doing it for a few months so hopefully, Sumter County will soon follow suit.

The Villages Library on Belvedere Blvd does not lend ebooks; however, you can get an eCard form the Alachua County Library District and borrow Kindle books from them.

I'm sorry to report that the Alachua County Library system is no longer issuing new ecards or honoring previously ecards. I have a feeling they were overwhelmed by the number of people attempting to "reserve" their limited number of ebooks.

Just asked them the other day. Answer is still no but they are looking at it since so many people are asking.
