Default TOTV New Posts

I hope one of the nice administrators can help me with my dilemma.
When I have been away from TOTV for a while I click on New Posts to see what I've missed. Sometimes I have 5 or 6 pages of New Posts. Let's say I'm on page 3 of New Posts, and I read a thread. How do I get back to page 3 from that thread? If I click on my back button, it takes me back to page 3, but the thread I just read is still "bolded" or marked as unread. If I click on New Posts I go back to page 1 and I have to remember what page I was on (and the memory ain't what it used to be).

I'm sure I'm doing something wrong, but I just don't know what it is. How do I read something on page 3 and then return to page 3 and have the thread marked as 'read'?
Thanks for any help,
Judy

Judy
TOTV works just the way you described for me. I just go to the last page and read the last post first. The post does not switch from bold to normal when you use the pageback on your browser.

I wish there would be a way to set a pointer for unread messages. If you have a large number of new unread posts and don't have to go through them at one setting you lose track and have to go fourm by forum or hope that the new posts are still listed at the bottom of the first page.

Judy, Hawk,

If you go back a New Posts page and your post is still in bold, stay on the New Post page and refresh it in your browser.

That should wake up the software to make the topic light face.

Let me know how that works.

It doesn't go to light face when you go back to it sometime because your browser fetches it from its cache, I'm guessing, rather than forcing the forum software to refresh you.

Tony, it worked! Thankyouthankyouthankyou!
I would say that you're definitely the nice administrator, but that would open up a whole 'nother can o' worms...
