There is some good advice in the previous posts but you can always bring your PC to us at CFLGeek.com. We are a local computer service company located in Leesburg, just a few minutes drive from The Villages. We offer virus removals, pc tune-ups, and many other services. Give us a call, visit us on the web, or come to the store.

These guys have done several different tasks and projects for me and I recommend them highly! Some issues can be solved over the phone/internet and they will come to your home if you wish. Their fees are incredibly reasonable.

Our computer is probably five years old. When I receive an e-mail from an unknown, I usually delete it. We don't do Facebook (privacy issues). We run a 'quick scan' every day and a full scan (takes about 1 1/2 hrs) once a week and we stay away from 'iffy' websites unless; also, check your uninstall programs too as my wife had gone to some coupon grocery site and all of a sudden, our access to the internet had changed to a different face page. Trust me, I'm no techie by any means but that was the first place I checked was for 'unstall programs' and that's where the program appeared. Un-installed it, got back my old face page accessing the internet and ran a full scan. Point being that there are some steps that you can take on your own first.

You are absolutely right. If you think you have a program that shouldn't be there but you are unsure you can always type the program name in a google search and see what comes up. If it is an unwanted program there is a great possibility that someone or some company has had an experience with it and has already posted something about it online and will recommend you to remove it.
