We currently have Kindle Keyboard, 3rd generation devices.
We are seriously considering new Kindle Paperwhite. Amazon has a great sale going right now. I am hesitant only due to lack of understanding (or confidence) about the process of being sure to get a complete transfer of content. Has anybody gone through this process? I would like to know that I can close the old unit and open the new one with no loss of content, position, etc. |

I did not lose a thing when I transferred from one to the other. Once I read something I usually remove it from the device and it will remain in the cloud. When I received my new paperwhite, the book i was reading at the time was on it and in the location i left off at. My unread books were also there. I love the paperwhite, sure beats that keyboard. I did not deactivate my old one until I had the new one and saw everything was in there. If you buy the new unit and have questions, feel free to PM me and I will try to help.

You log on to amazon.com and there is a section where you can manage your content and devices. You can register a new kindle device and transfer any or all content to the new device. I believe you can use up to about 7 kindle devices and deliver content that you own to any of those devices.
