I am considering downloading either OpenOffice or NeoOffice for the MacBook Pro. I previously used OpenOffice on a PC, which I liked, but I am trying to determine the benefits of one over the other, for the Mac.
My brief research indicates that NeoOffice was developed specifically for the Mac environment, whereas OpenOffice was ported over to OS X. Frankly, both look to be good alternatives to MS Office and no one can argue with the price..FREE. Although, I'd prefer to download one... Any experience with either ?? Thanks.... |

I use Neooffice almost exclusively. I think it is actually Openoffice with a pretty Mac face integrated.
My only trouble with it has been that I cannot easily search. For a tab or carriage return. The package, too, includes a database and drawing program. I use both, and they are good tools to have. |

Thanks Tony... I have been leaning towards NeoOffice, simply due to the Mac interface. I'll check a few more forums and then download something.
