Do you remember how it was previously set up. You may need to set up the wireless connection.

You might get some advice if you could be more specific. Is a wired or wireless printer? Error message? Printer not found?

You probably just need to set up a new wireless network and get all the devices on that network.

He said he could fix it if I bought the part, but said it had long passed it's time. Hated to toss it out, especially since I had just purchased 3 new color cartridges at $110 a piece. But I knew it was getting bad and kept fiddling with it hoping for "just one more page" each time.

He may be able to walk you through it on the phone hoping for future business.

He was awesome, gave me some ideas on what to look for. Since he doesn't sell them, he has no dog in the fight, just an honest guy. Guess we will go to Walmart for a printer now.

If you know this old one, it's an HP Laserjet CP4025 if anybody wants it for parts.
So you paid $85 to someone to tell you that you should buy a new printer. You could've just bought a brand new color laser jet printer for less than $400, and not tried to fix a broken old one.

Unless you're under manufacture's warranty, home printers are considered disposable. When they break - if you can't fix it yourself, just buy a new one. It takes less time, is more cost-efficient, and is less effort than paying for diagnosis or repair.

Hope I'm first. I will buy all 202A cartridges you have for $100 each, plus 50 for the broken printer. The double sided printer is a must and I need to keep mine going. I sent you a PM under "GladStonePhilly"

Try uninstalling the printer and reinstalling it. The most likely cause is that it needs to be found on your new wifi network. The uninstall effectively unhooks it from your previous network - which is now out of reach (and probably non-existent). The install process normally finds your new network.

So true. This logic also applies, IMHO, to all electronics and appliances that cost $500 or less. Once you start getting into major appliances like refrigerators, washer/dryers look at the age (10+ years, just replace) and the cost of the repair and make an analysis. I have spent $350 to fix, just to have another issue 6 months later at another $350. Cheaper to replace.

Default No Print

Assuming it's A wireless printer and assuming that you were able to set it up at your original location and you've tried to set it up at your new location and it doesn't work, the possible solution might be to turn off your VPN if you have it have one and then try to print.

If the printer has a screen, press the wifi icon. If should tell you which wifi network it is connected to. If this is correct, you may need to enter the wifi password.

I’d focus on the IP configuration differences between the last place the printer worked and the new place where it doesn’t. If someone programmed a static address like, 192.168.35.5, then the printer won’t work in a network with a schema like 192.168.1.0.

You probably just need to set up the new internet connection. Pretty simple to do on your own. The printer should walk you through the steps. Or look it up online. That's what we had to do when we moved.

Most wireless printers will automatically locate and connect to your wifi network. You may need to enter the wifi password by using the settings on the printer screen.
