Default Network connection lost

I keep getting a window that says network connection lost with a button to reload. This is happening more and more frequently. Is this a DSL problem, my browser, or what?????

Default Connection lost - correction

Oops. The window actually says "cannot access network." Just happened to me again. Can reload but then after a couple of page switches pops up again.

Who do you use for your internet service? Comcast internet was down on my PC from 10-12.

If you have wifi, the first thing to look at would be the router.
Followed by the modem.
Unplug the router for at least 20 seconds then plug it back in. If that reboot works, you've found your culprit.

I go for 10 minutes before I plug it back in. BUT it could actually be the network and you just have to wait until they resolve the problem. Like today, my link went down. I did the usual troubleshooting techniques and then I waited for an hour and the network came back up.

You do not mention the device that you are using (PC, tablet, smart phone, etc.) my wife and I are having continuing problems with Samsung Galaxy S3 phones and the 'wonderful' Comcast modem/router. The phones constantly will not reconnect to home network, yet other times will reconnect fine. Rebooting the phones does nothing, rebooting the Modem/routed fixes it every time. Does this help?

One other thing. Most of these modem?routers come with a battery backup. If it does remove the battery first then reboot (unplug) the modem/router. After the modem is up and running replace the battery.

Never seen a battery backup on a modem or a router.

Something to remember, the router is the key to your network. The leased modem/router combos are not very good at all. If you want a solid reliable home network, get out your checkbook and start looking at routers in the $200+ category.

As with all things, good ain't cheap and cheap ain't good

Unplugged everything for half an hour or so and problem has not surfaced so far. Using a laptop, router and Centurylink DSL modem. Thanks for the tips!!

My internet has been intermittent for the last couple of days. It may be a Comcast issue.
