Default New netgear modum/router, now no printer, wassup???

Netgear modum/router does not connect with hp 2680 printer. Probably doesn't help that I'm not techy and our kids who are VERY techy live many miles away. Help!

Are you hard wired or using Bluetooth?

If it was working before, chances are it has nothing to do with the computer. You changed the WiFi.

We have the same printer.

Make sure you “pair” the new set up. Those printers require you push the info button for 3 seconds, Then push the info button and WiFi button together for a a few seconds. Then make sure you chose the WiFi for your HP printer. Print what you need.

When you are done, make sure to go back to your WiFi on your device and turn on your original wiFi network for internet use.

I found this on the web
https://support.hp.com/us-en/product...model/30206235

Then click on “Chapter 7 Connect Your Printer”

I hope this helps.

I really hate to use this statement, but since your kids are miles away. And this is really how they fix stuff, but may not admit.

Go to Utube, enter in your printer model, and they will be multiple smiling face videos with very easy instructions.

Every time my ink jet clog shut I can easily get it working on utube

I had already pushed info and WiFi for seconds, but how to choose WiFi for printer was NEVER an option, hmmmm! How??

I use the "HP Print Service Plug-in" app on my smart phone and tablet. You may try installing this app from the Google Play Store. It will pick up local printers and print almost anything to them. Also, have you tried pressing the WIFI button on the small printer screen to see if it is connected to your home WIFI service. It is possible that it is connecting to a neighbor's WIFI signal. The printer and the print device must both be connected to the same WIFI signal.

I’ll go out on a limb but did you read the printed or online instructions. Possibly a driver update.

OP, was your previous implementation using the WPS function on the printer and router? If so you probably need to do this again. I have no idea how to do this on your router, ours had a WPS button, and the printer (not HP) had a menu function to use WPS. As I recall WPS is Wireless Print Service.

YouTube solves nearly all my comp. and printer problems.
Mind you, my printer is so old, the YouTube picture is in black and white.

What does WPS mean?
WiFi Protected Setup
WPS stands for WiFi Protected Setup. A router with a WPS button can allow any device to automatically connect to your router when the WPS button is pressed. When you press the WPS button, your router looks for compatible devices right away and allows those devices automatically connect.
