Cool New Laptop Hangs up

Just purchased a brand new ASUS laptop. Within two weeks, noticed it would freeze or hang up during internet sessions. I would get the spinning blue wheel but would not load page. Pressed ALT-Ctrl-Delete to see what was hanging things up but just got a blank grey screen, eventually had to manually reboot computer.
After a few sessions same thing. Dealer said to remove and reinstall AVAST antivirus..did that helped for awhile back to same problem.
Then took unit back to dealer they did a deep virus removal and that seemed to help for about 2 weeks, then, bingo, froze up again! Really frustrating.took it back once again and dealer gave me a new Hard Drive, ghosting my old one...we will see. Dealer has been very helpful but who knows if this will be ultimate solution or do I simply have a "lemon"
Question? anyone had similar experience, possible solutions? or cause?

Thanks

I can't help you with your problems but I bought a new Sony laptop and have a different problem.

Visualize these scenarios: You are typing a paper, a response on a forum, a list, an email message, etc. You pause with the typing and remove your hands from the keyboard. When you decide to type again and any part of your hand/wrist/fingers even remotely touches the keyboard the screen goes BLANK. The only way to resume is to touch and "scroll" on the keypad then it returns to a normal screen.

I've been on the phone for hours with support and they have never encountered this problem before and I'm stuck with this glitch! It's not only inconvenient but it's irritating and frustrating!

Default sony laptop

I would take it back to where you purchased it and have them ship it to Sony.
It seems to me if it is a problem that they can reproduce then they owe to you to either fix or replace. That's what warranties are all about.

Hello Score - what operating system are you using? I have had similar problems with VISTA - moved over to Windows 7 and, presto - no more problems.

Default laptop freeze

I am using Windows 7. Still hoping it was a hard drive issue and the new one should help...not sure what else it could be.

Look for a program called Who Crashed Professional (It's free) Downlooad, install and run it. It should tell you what;'s causing the freeze.

Default Lap top Hangs up

I have a Lennovo Desk top. New in January. I use Yahoo as my home page and I have a Google search bar installed for searches. Sometimes when I do a search from Google, my computer hangs up and I have the little blue circle spinning. The only way I can get out is to hit the (x) close tab. Then I have to start the search process all over. I have no idea what causes this. I use Webroot for my anti virus. I have Windows 7 and 6 gig of memory. Anyone have a problem like this?

Thanks

Default computer hangs

Thanks for the advice on "who crashed" looked it up and it appears to be a useful program. Like I said, have had the new hard drive for a couple of weeks and no problems. So for now "if it ain't broke..etc" however if it happens again, will download that program for sure.

Default Fix the roof before it rains!

I suggest you download the free program "Who Crashed..." now and have it already on your computer when you have an event. It works better that way.

Have you notice the common thread? All these computers use the Windows OS. Why are there none of these issues with Apple OS? Just sayin.

I think that was/is a cheap shot. Don't want to know your reason for it. You posted a question and I answered it.

Did you ever get this issue resolved Scoreboard? From your original description of the problem it is possible that you had\have a malware infection.
