Default When hooking up computer to 37" flat panel with HDMI cord

I get the following messages on the screen:

"not supported mode"

I have tried all 4 HDMI ports on the flat panel tv with the same result.

I am currently using a VGA connection which works fine. My new computer has a blu ray player and of course needs the digital connection.

I have tested the cord by connecting my laptop to the same flat panel and it operates via the HDMI port as one would expect.

Hence there is an issue between the new desk top and the flat panel.

Comments/suggestions?

Had this same problem recently. It was remedied by reducing the resolution size down to 800/600 or a resolution less than what your computer is set for. Hope this helps.

i agree with kathy and al.... sounds like a resolution issue... Google, your TV model and native resolution, then go into your display properties and copy over the native resolution for your tv...
