Default Sound options for HDTV

Not really a computer question, more of an audio/visual/TV question... hey new sponsor, are you listening?

We are getting ready to buy a new HD TV for the living room. I have a sound bar on the current TV but it still doesn't quite put out clear, decent sound. We have tile floors and an open room so sound seems to bounce all over the place. Not really looking for a full surround sound option.

What I was thinking about was a way to put bluetooth/wireless speakers closer to where we are sitting and having the TV "transmit" or output the sound to these speakers. Is that do-able? Do TVs come with bluetooth capability? I have seen bluetooth transmitters/receivers advertised (plug into a headphone jack?).

Anyway, anybody have some good solutions for getting clear sound from today's TVs to these aging/failing ears ?

Have you tried using a light, comfortable set of headphones?

you can ramp up the volume without disturbing others, and two of you can have different volume levels if you want

Give me a call, I'll be happy to come over and have a look. More than likely you just need a little tune up but we can discuss audio options at that time.

That is a great idea , and if you put a tv out on your lanai , you can use the headphones and it won't bother you're neighbors.
