Default "Smart" Tracfone?

Anybody out there invest in a prepaid Tracfone that has web and app capabilities?

It looks like the LG800G is the "smartest" phone they offer locally with touch screen and web capabilities.

I'm a cell phone minimalist and can't justify a true contract smart phone but I have tons of Tracfone minutes accumulated and there are times it would be convenient to check email, TOTV, news, weather radar, etc when away from home.

Any experience? Any suggestions? Is the web performance acceptable or brutally slow and unreliable?

Thanks for your help...

I have the LG phone... web performance is very, very slow and the viewing screen is very small. I got the phone mainly for easy texting, but have hooked to the web on occasion and have been disappointed with the performance.

Good information.

Since Tracfone uses the Verizon wireless network, I wonder if Verizon/Trac use a slower network for those customers?

Deano... Thanks for the review. I was concerned the web performance would be poor. Are you in TV or elsewhere?

BobKat... My current Samsung dumb tracfone uses the AT&T network. Mr 07's Nokia uses Verizon. I think the default network is based on the phone manufacturer and your location.

I've had bad reception since I switched to this Samsung Tracfone on AT&T. However, with the new towers in TV, it has gotten better.

I use the phone both in Indiana and Florida and web performance is the same, bad, in both locations.
