Default "Synch" ipad and iphone?

Is it possible to synch the two without having to go to itunes?
I have contacts, calendars and reminders turned on in the settings section under icloud on both devices. Do I have to turn on icloud back up on both for this to work?

Yes.
Turn them all on excerpt notes on both the iPhone & ipad.

Then go to your iPhone bookmarks and read the iPhone user guide( last bookmark listed) on your phone and then do the same on your iPad. It will tell you what you need to know.

Last time I did it, I had 3 phone numbers in itunes and 400 in the iphone. After the sync I had 3 on each. Lost them all. Will NEVER sync again. And I even had the settings verified by someone else. You would think it would merge the two together, or at worst case take the one that had the most numbers, but it did not. Had to re-key all those numbers into the phone.

Where are the phone numbers in iTunes? I don't have any that I can see and my contacts (phone numbers, etc.) sync to Contacts on the MacBook via iCloud. With iCloud, contacts sync to all my iDevices automatically, when on the same WiFi network.

Are you using the PC or Mac version?

You can subscribe to iTunes match - think it's about $25 a year. Synchs iphone to Ipad and also to my PC.
