I need to purchase a new tablet and am looking for recommendations. I searched TO TV but did not find anything recent. Have done a lot of Web searches but everything has pros and cons. Looking for some unbiased info. based on experience. Prefer not to spend more than $300. Will be used for Web searches, email, few games, etc. I liked what I read about the chrome but apps are limited to goggles and I wasn't able to get to the site to see if my preferred apps would be available. Any info would be appreciated. My previous tablet was a Nook but want to try something different.

You can get an Ipad Mini 32 gig for $319. I love mine. I think they are very easy to use. I saw this price on the apple website.

I've had several Nooks and a Nexus 7. None of them lasted more than about a year. Now I'm into my second year using a Samsung Tab 4 8.0. I really like the 8" screen. Small enough to be portable but great as a reader or for web browsing. If it broke, I would look to a Samsung Tab A or another Tab 4. They run about $200 on Amazon.

Another vote for IPad Mini. The 32 gb Mini 2 is on sale at WalMart.com now for $279. If you only need 16 gb it's $229. I have a 16 gb Mini from 2013 and my husband got the Mini 2 at WalMart recently when his Nook reader broke. Both the Kindle and Nook Apps are available on iPad. The iPad is very intuitive, not like Windows 10, which has given me a fit the last few days. My 3-yr old Mini still works fine.

Default Least money

Decide what you want to do and spend to that. My wife went back to the small white page kindle after using the hd fire. We both have ancient ipads that serve us well without keeping up with the Jones.

Just a note, if possible get the wi-fi version so you can use it when you are out of the house. If you decide not to do that you can always use your phone as a hot spot and still get on the internet.

Once you get an Apple product you will be hooked. I have a Macbook Pro, IPhones and IPad. They work seamlessly. Personally I won't buy anything else.

Just for a different perspective...I bought a Mac. I soon returned it and got another PC. The Mac was nice, no doubt. But for a couple things I like to do, a PC meets my needs better.

The PC also works seamlessly with my iPhone and iPad.
