I am looking to get my "older" sister a computer and don't want to get Windows 8 and subject her to having to learn how to use a new operating system.

At least for a while, Micros$oft allowed PC makers to substitute Windows7. I expect that it may be possible to find old inventory with Windows7 and local computer sellers should have the ability to assemble one with Windows7.

BestBuy...search computers under Windows, then Windows 7.
Dell....same process.

Just keep in mind that at some point Microsoft will stop supporting Windows 7, which means that you will be in trouble if you need new drivers etc.

You can always download Classic Shell (free) to make your Windows 8 machine run like Windows 7.

Buy a used mac (meaning less expensive) and run Windows 7. Or, buy a mac and learn to use OSX... it's easy.
