Is there any advantage to have a built in wi-fi capability into a desk top computer?

If your home internet wiring can not accomodate where you want to place the desktop it would be a solution.

My mom hates wires all over the place around her office, so she bought a wireless printer. We bought a USB wireless adapter so she can use the printer from her desktop computer without wires. It plugs into a USB port at the back of her computer leaving the USB ports on the front for other use.

Built in WiFi not only lets you have fewer wires, it also lets you stream movies, music from your iTunes, etc. throughout the house. Bluetooth is also a major plus.

1>I guess you can use your smartphone as a hot spot. Then a wireless desktop would make sence. 2>I presume you want internet capability on the desktop. If not, then you obviously don't need it. 3>If you want the internet, only if it's inconvenient to wire it up. I have my internet modem under my desktop so it's wired. When we move to TV the desktop goes to the junk heap and we'll just have laptops or tablets which of course would be wireless. |
