Thumbs down windows 8.1 iP problem

Do not have Wifi because PC says Ip is incorrect in network troubleshoot. My ( paid for ) Advance ...techs stated the IP of 192 is working ok, That it's Dish problem ,Dish states it is PC problem !? Went on Internet ,seems this is a occurring problem everywhere . There are several fixes given but am afraid to do if I have to undo. Now I am without wifi, spent $$ for techs and still know decisive answer or correction. Anyone have this problem or know how ,who , can fix without another layout of big $$$? Need all the suggestions ASAP.:Screen_of_ Death:

Release and renew your IP address. From the run command, type CMD, at the prompt, type IPconfig/release, then IPconfig/renew. This should assign a new IP address to your system. Re boot and see if this resolves your issue. Also might not hurt to power down and re start your modem/router.

I have had similar problems connecting my new computer with Windows 8.1 to my wireless system. All my other equipment, older computers, smart phones, Kindles, etc worked great, but the new computer. After 3 weeks of frustration, talking with the support from Dell, with no success, Returning the Dell computer and buying a different brand with Win 8.1 only to have the same connectivity problems, a sales employee at Best Buy told me to change my wireless modem. Seems that if your modem is over 3-4 years old, 8.1 will not connect. $45 later and a new modem, BINGO, everything works.

Dish people with 8.1 I just had the Dish tech here.
Thought all PC people should know when unplugging the Dish modem, it should be off for 1 to 1 1/2 minutes NOT just the 30 seconds suggested by techs. There is a battery inside Dish modem that still runs for the 1-2 minutes after turning off or unplugging.hope this saves others from my dilemma .

Took Bose cover off and retrieved disc Thanks to all!

Glad you got it fixed!! I usually do five minutes before I replug the modem in. Same with the Comcast DVR when I am getting pixilations.
