Default Mac ibook Advice

I cannot eject a CD from my Mac ibook. When I log on I hear gears running as though it's trying to eject, but it never does. Any
suggestions would be great. Thanks

Not sure about a Mac but on almost every other PC I have ever worked on you can do the following process.

Look at the CD drive and see if there is a small hole near the drive opening. If there is just take a paper clip and straighten it out and push it into the hole. It will open the drive.

Hope that works.

Many macs just have a slit instead of a drawer.

I do not have the answer for you, but you might want to post this in the computer section of this forum.......

OR

Check out the forums on the following websites;

www.apple.com

www.appleinsider.com

www.macrumors.com

There are many "Mac" websites that have forums where many other Mac people are very helpful with free advice. The appleinsider and apple forums are great. You will get help there within the hour......very active.

Do a search there.......your problem was most likely already covered.

Try restarting the computer while holding down the mouse button.

Please don't be insulted if I ask, have you pushed the eject key? When I first got my MacBook, I couldn't get the cd out until I researched how to. My pc does not have an eject key. Also, I think that I read where you could turn it, shake GENTLY, and it would fall out. Can't wait to get to TV and join the MAC group, that is if they will have me after this post. :-) And you can always check the web sites mentioned above. You will find an answer there. Good luck! Pat

You can also open finder and look on the left side for the disk and try to eject it from there - and - open iTunes and see if it is there, again try to eject from that location.

I had a superdrive go out on me and nothing I did would eject the disk. (Apple replaced the superdrive and saved the disk.)
