Default Wireless Printer Network Dllema

Struggling to network our MAC Probook Pro to a printer network with a new router. No success with what we have tried.

I had my printer connected to a power strip. Once I plugged it directly into a wall plug, it worked. Worth a try.

Default Network printer

I am also having a problem connecting an iPad and iTouch to network printer.
Everything worked on Comcast, HP laptop and Apples printed to HP printer

Changed to CenturyLink. HP laptop prints wirelessly to printer. Apple cannot find printer. Centurylink tech replaced router, HP had me install new driver, Apple had me reset network. All three say contact one of the others.

Total of about 5 hours on the phone.

Zyxel router, HP 3050A printer, iPad2 and iTouch.

Free six pack of your favorite beer if I can print from Apple devices.

Have you tried to remove the printer from the printer list and re-add it?

Hi afbob, I am not very computer savvy.... but when I changed to the ipad, I could not get anything to wirelessly print. My husband can print wirelessly from his MacBook pro to the same printer.
I found an app called AltaMail(free in the app store) and now I can print emails from my ipad. I think it is only for email but I'm not sure. Anyway, I was thinking if you installed the app and you can print, it would prove that the network is good.

It might be that the router does not accept the devices that are not working. I assume you are not using a password, but you might have to register the MAC address of your device with the router. You would do this when you are logged into the router and the MAC address will probably be able to be read from one of the prompts the router.

Default Printer Network

I can log into Admin on the router and it shows all 4 devices on the same line.

Yeah we had the problem getting to our wireless printer when we got our router through brighthouse (hotspot). I knew exactly what was wrong...took about an hour on the phone with brighthouse to get it the laptops to be able to talk ot the wireless printer. Had to do with the passwords and encryption, back up north I had an unsecured wifi so it just linked right to it...here a bit of a firewall...

Good luck.
