Default Avast! pop-up

I'm not a computer techie at all. A week ago I nearly got infected with a Trojan Horse. We have Avast! (the free version) that ways it blocked it and a file was created and modified. I keep getting a pop-up regarding this. It says on the bottom you can report it, which I did. Said something about it would be fixed at the next scan. Well it's not gone! What can I do to eradicate this pop-up short of calling customer support (been there, done that in the past---nightmare of non-American speaking person and long waits on phone). If someone on here can't ask me I'll go the next step of having someone come out and fix this. The pop-up occurs every few seconds!

have you done an on-line search re the virus the computer almost got? I use a paid anti-virus and not avast so am sorry I cannot assist specifically. perhaps you could email their customer support with the details if you don't find something in an on-line search?

Between superantispyware and ccleaner and avast I guess I'm lucky they find and clean everything . Run ccleaner every time you shut down your computer then clen your registry. Works for me

For years I have used Spybot Search and Destroy to get rid of spy software like Trojan Horses and ad tracking. It is a free download from SaferNetworking.org: The Leading Safer Networking Site on the Net . It is offered elsewhere but other sources might in fact contain malware. Read about the program at Spybot and see if it sounds like something that would help you.

I'm sorry that you're having this issue, viruses can be extremely hard to get rid of now a days because of how advanced they are getting.. There a multitude of free programs out there that can help get your computer secure again, and I personally would recommend spybot as well. However if you find you keep having this issue, please feel free to call our company and we'll help you out!

I also use Avast so I'm curious ... did you get your problem resolved?

Had someone come in a fix the problem. Avast was blocking a Trojan Horse that was trying to get in and attach to all the computer innards. I'm not technically knowlegable so had to have someone who was take care of it. Everything is fine now!!
