Default television and internet choices in the villages

We are closing on our new house on March 3rd. We have already gathered much valuable information by reading Talk of the Villages. Thank you all. Could you please provide us your opinions as to what is the best choice for a television signal provider in The Villages. Should we bundle television with our internet provider? Thank you in advance for your input.

Wow, Talk about open ended question.... you will get a bunch of different opinions on this deal. You got three choices Dish, Directv or comast. This has been hashed out more than a couple of times.. Maybe go back and search for the thread. there are a few of them.

If you select Comcast be sure to ask for the total installation price. They told us the price and didn't mention that each additional outlet was another $17. So we found this out when we got the bill and were not to happy about it..

We went with the Embarq bundle. They are the phone co. in the area. Phone, internet and Dish TV. The only drawbacks are the 2 year contract required on dish and the loss of signal in heavy rain storms. We can DVR on either of 2 sets and watch the recording from either room. Never lost the internet and the phone works nicely as well. I had Comcast up north and decided I was tired of their slow response for service calls. I would call and be given an appointment 3 or 4 days later. Once the guy told me the cable to my house must be broken so he ran a cable across the lawn so I could have TV. That was fine but for the next 6 weeks I had to cut the grass around the cable. They finally came and buried the cable.

We're in the same boat as you. Closing on March 4 and I have no idea which is best.
I finally decided to go with the Comcast TV and internet through Clear Link. We'll use our cellphones instead of having a landline installed. I don't know if this is the best or if I'll stay with it but there's no contract to sign. If I don't like it I'll go elsewhere.

Two months ago we closed on our home in TV. We have Comcast bundled for $114, price guaranteed for 1 year. We did upgrade our black box to two DVR boxes, so cost is now $134 a month. Installation was $49-our home was not new, so it was pre-wired but Comcast did change some outlets for us.

We have no problem with Comcast unless you have to go to the office. Then the wait is long. If you do decide on Comcast, call ahead for an appointment to install.

Enjoy your new home in TV!

Whatever you do be sure to consider Direct TV they are the best in reliability, service and picture quality. They also have the most full time HD channels.

Default Comcast

I have Comcast for many years with there internet and TV, just 2 months ago I went with there bundle package with there phone service. The phone serviced is great because you can call anywhere in the US for free and guarantee for a year. I had minor TV problems they took care of it right away. You don't have to sign any long term contracts and you can cancel any time you want. The biggest advantage is If you feel the rates are too high just tell them and they will give you a better price because they don't want to lose you as a customer. If you need anymore information PM me.
