We left a 13 year old all electric home in Maryland where the winter bill was $395 and the summer bill was about $240, so what we pay here is like getting electricity for nothing.
They sell solar powered attic fans, high tech insulation, and whole house power surge protectors.

We live in a designer home in The Village of Piedmont. Our home was built in 2002 and is frame/siding. We were not confident we needed to make changes but were open to being more educated about it.

We wanted to find out the pricing, but he absolutely would not offer prices at the seminar. We had to allow him to come to the house to get prices. For him to literally tell us he wasted his time coming to our house was his fault, not ours. His time could have been better served by divulging the info upfront.

The presentation was very interesting, though, and we wanted to know more of the specifics like pricing, etc. The gentleman came to the house the very same week (which was good). However, he took a call from another prospective customer while in our home. Proceeded to tell my husband what a "pain in the ass" the customer on the phone was. Gave us a price (which of course was only good if we signed a contract that very day). We told him we were interested, but since we were in the middle of several other large projects we would be getting back in touch with him at a later time. The salesman got up from the table, stomped out muttering what a waste of his time, and slammed our door behind him.

We were aghast! How rude.

Ironically, we were really interested in the products they sold...but not now.

Has anyone else done business with this company? Is this how they do business or was it just us?
We would be happy to help you with the solar attic fan. We also have a local showroom close to the villages on Hwy. 441. You can give us a call 866-669-5259 or find out more information at www.thesolarguys.com

I also did a search for that company with Marion and Sumter counties and did not find them registered to pull permits. Without pulling a permit you would be open to fines in the future.

That's very interesting information. Thanks for the post. I will let my husband know and give him your info.

Has anyone actually used their products? He came and spoke with us as well, but was very pleasant when we said we wanted to think about it. But I'm still wondering if anyone has actually used his products and did they work as advertised?

I have heard nothing but good things about The Solar Guys and if we decide to install tubes or fans, they would be who we would call.

No. I don't know them or have ever met them but I have a good feeling about them just from other people posting on here about them. You can do your own search. There are a few contractors who you never hear anything negative about. They must be doing something right.

We have five sun tunnels installed by The Solar Guys. I would definitely recommend them.
