Default Appliance Repair

Living in Va we had an appliance repair guy for past 20 years who worked on all makes and models of appliances.

Since he is not likely to make service calls here figure we should have someone on file when the time comes we need help.

We purchased house with Whirlpool, Maytag and LG appliances. So far they are doing fine but at some point they will not

Does anyone have a fellow they would recommend who can work on all types of appliances including washers and dryers?

Thanks for your help.

Stu

Stu, give Sears repair service a call. They service all brands now. They show up on time, know their stuff and are respectful...and if they know what brand/model you have and what the issue is, they'll most likely show up with the spare parts

we've used them and have been very pleased.

This doesn't directly answer your question but don't forget to account for the age of the appliance, and the cost to replace it before you call someone in to fix it.

Jeff many years ago in NYC learned how to calculate this.

Take the replacement value of the appliance and subtract the original cost.

Divide that number by the number of years you have had the appliance.

To that number multiply by pi squared and that will tell you what to do.

Correct. But, I will usually opt to repair the appliance, because I don't want to go through the hassle of shopping for a new appliance, and being without the old one until I do.

Sears is a good choice.
Alwayz There Appliance repair was terrible: Mr Simmons drove up smoking a cigarette...did not
identify himself. Looked at the refrigerator and announced that it's
impossible to buy just a spring and that the entire ice dispenser/water
dispenser unit would need to be replaced "if we can get it." He said he
would go to his vehicle and check......after about four or five minutes
(just about the length of time it takes to smoke a cigarette) He returned
as said he couldn't get the parts and we would have to endure as long as we
could and then buy another refrigerator. "That will be $ 69."

A few days later......another service technician...said that it was a
broken spring and he would order it $3.58. Until then...he adjusted the
broken spring so the unit works adequately.

I am profoundly disappointed with Alwayzthere appliance repair and will
tell my friends.

What makes you think he won't make a service call here? For the right price I'm sure he'll jump on it. Don't be so cheap.
