I want to put in an attic antenna for my garage TV and if picture is good, then possibly for the rest of the house. Is this an easy self install or should I get someone? If I should hire, then I am looking for recommendations for seller/installers and best antenna to purchase. Thanks.

I thought I read that the insulation in some attics, newer ones makes a working indoor antennae unlikely. Hopefully someone can add some facts to this post.

I tried to put antenna in the attic, results were poor, I had better luck in the bird cage. NOTE: I could not climb back to the highest point in the attic, also I do not have the metallic thermal barrier. I ended up putting the antenna outside, but it turns out i am so LOW that reception is very marginal, I am am not going to put in a tower.....

I have a $30 antenna I bought from Amazon and in my 2011 CYV in the Seabreeze Rec Center area, I get about 30 channels from Orlando. Only about 10 of them are any good, the rest are either Spanish language or religious. I cannot get channel 2, which I understand is further away and many people can't get that channel either. If you want professional installation and a good antenna, call Tom at Villages AV that's listed in Dan's post and you won't have to worry about anything, he provides everything. I believe he'll charge about $200 to $250 which includes all the cables and antenna. If you need your TV mounted on the wall, he does that as well and does a great job.
