Just had an "enlightening" experience buying tires for my car. I needed 4 new tires and talked to one supplier and got a price for a new set, mounted and "out the door" of $1,400+
I then contacted a new place in Lady Lake, Tire Kingdom" and asked for price on same tires...they said $1,040. I opted to go to Tire Kingdom and they did a timely, professional job mounting my new tires and I was back home in 1.5 hrs. They're a friendly, knowledgeable staff. It was a pleasure to do business with them. I highly recommend TIRE KINGDOM in Lady Lake! ![]()

Need to check the born on date of the tires to make sure they are fairly new.

Recommend you check online with The Tire Rack before you buy tires locally. One of their recommended installers is Tire Kingdom. You can buy the tires online and have the tires shipped direct to Tire Kingdom who then installs the tires on your vehicle at a preset price. See the attached link for details.

BM, Awhile back Brian Ross of ABC News did an investigative piece about new tires that were manufactured years before they were sold. Every tire sold now has a code embedded on a tire's sidewall indicating the year and week a tire was manufactured. The code is at the end of a jumble of letters and numbers on the tire. For example, the number 419 indicates the tire was manufactured in the 41st week of 1999 and is 10 years old.
I would think that if you purchased tires locally, that you'd be in a better position to reject a "new" tire that was manufactured more than two years ago.
