We just had our dryer vent cleaned and we used Scott Larson of Lake-Sumter Dryer Vent Cleaning. 352-787-5202. He was recommended by our neighbors and we were very impressed with the service. He conducts air flow tests before and after and provides pictures before and after cleaning. Scott advocates changing to the safer semi-rigid dryer vent hose instead of the foil accordion hose. He will replace it if necessary but does not up-sell!! Extremely impressed and will definitely have him back in 2 years! Call 352-787-5202

In my experience, cleaning a dryer vent is typically a fixed price service. Why are some people reluctant to share the cost for a simple service?

Usually it is $125 though had a May special of $99.

There was a related thread recently about roof replacement and how the contractors did not reattach the dryer and stove hoses back to the roof vents. Is this something that Scott would do as well?

How often should one have this maintenance item performed? My home is 7 months old - was thinking to schedule at the one-year mark - does this seem appropriate?
