Thumbs down Buyer Beware-Tera Seal Painting Co.

In late January I contracted with Tera Seal to Epxoy the garage floor in my new home prior to moving in. He did the job when he said he would for the agreed upon price, with a 3 year written guarantee against peeling. HOWEVER, in April the coating started to come up where the car tires sit when parked in the garage. OK, no problem, Tera Seal said they would stand behind it for 3 years, so I call the guy and leave messages-repeatedly over a period of weeks. He has never returned any of my calls and apparently has no intention of standing behind his work. So, for painting work look elsewhere!

It's great you posted your complaint here so others could see it. I do note this is your first post in TOTV so I am a little suspicious of your motivations - but that is just me.

That being said, there is more you can, and should do, about this.

First, file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. You can do that online at http://centralflorida.bbb.org/Find-Business-Reviews/. If you had checked Tera Seal Painting of Citrus Springs, FL out at the BBB. you could have been forewarned - their rating is less than stellar.

Second, you can file a complaint with the local Seniors Vs Crime Office. There are two in TV - one at each sheriffs office (Marion and Sumter Counties).

Third, check with TV Warranty Department - they sometimes recommend companies to do work on homes in TV and if one is not good, they need to know that.

Good luck in getting this resolved.

I hate being the first one in a crowd that says "I don't get it" when someone tells a joke and I don't get it... but, of course, that doesn't stop me from asking...ok, here goes: I don't get why your suspicious of BusDriver's motivations because it's his/her's first post.

mgm, the skepticism comes from business practices of some. Sometimes, a competitor will pretend to be a customer and complain. Sometimes, a business will create an identity and praise themselves. So, if the first post seen is about a business other than the poster's own business, it causes some suspicion. Just the nature of the beast.

In the case, though, I believe busdriver -- mainly because it gave both the good and bad of what was done. Hopefully, TeraSeal will make things right and busdriver will let us know if this happens.

I usually do not give the number of posts any concern. It is possible that BusDriver was complaining about this problem to a friend who is on TOTV and they said that TOTV is a great place where he can explain the problem and get some assistance. So he signed up with TOTV.

Besides it sounded like a legitimate complaint to me.

This has nothing to with busdriver or the contractor that he had to do his work. Our next door neighbor put the epoxy paint down on his garage and he is one of those people that do everything "Just Right". After a few weeks his paint also peeled and he decided that it was from the heat of the tires. Does anyone have this type of paint and it's not peeling?

Thanks Bryan for the additional info. Sorry I missed the BBB info on these guys. As I said in my original post; Buyer Beware.
My motives for the post was to simply let others know what my experience was with this company so they might avoid the same. Among the many reputable companies offering all manner of services and products to villagers there are some carpetbaggers, and they need to be identified.
